Synopsis of Event: |
Also known as 'bowls' or 'lawn bowling', the name of the game Petanque was
literally derived from the expression 'feet anchored'. A easy-to-learn sport
steeped deeply in the annals of history, Petanque has been played since the
19th century. While not as physically demanding, Petanque encourages
intelligent play, where precision and accuracy, coupled with strategy, is
required. Played both as an individual and a team sport, kids will first
learn the game (and how easy it is!), before moving on to master the
intricate strategies required for both versions of play.
